Colomba Chemo Classic - 10th November 2012

Join us again for a late Autumn charity ride in the beautiful northern dales. This years event will be running on Saturday 10th November over a stunning 63 mile course from the Georgian market town of Richmond.

The ride in its fourth year was originally the brain child of Rob Knibbs who at the age of 17 was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. He has now made a full recovery and with the support Ben Swift of Sky Pro Cycling and all of the entrants has continued to support Cancer Research UK in the excellent work they do.

The route is a challenging 63 miles course with beautiful scenery throughout. Refreshemnts are provided at the start and finish and also at a feed station in the village of Thoralby. The route will be clearly signed and there will be support vehicles travelling around the route on the day.

There are changing facilities and a communal shower available. Free tea and coffee are available at the start/finish and also at the feed station at Thoralby. The feed station is about 37 miles around so it is probably worth packing a couple of energy bars to keep you going until you get there. Food will also be provided at the finish.

PARKING
There is a large pay and display car park immediately opposite. I would recommend parking in bays only as we have one of the most efficient traffic wardens in the country and several people last year fell foul and received tickets.
Free Overflow parking is available at Richmond School, Darlington Road, DL10 7BQ. If you are arriving from Scotch corner then this is the third on the left as you enter Richmond. It is the one with the large 'Richmond School' emblazoned on the end and the building works. If you get to the crossing you have gone too far. The changing rooms here will open at nine and close at five and there are plenty of shower facilities. It is only about 0.75 miles to the start at the Cricket Club from here.
Please do not park in the small cricket club car park as this will be needed for event vehicles and medics etc.
