A CHANCE TO RIDE WITH TOP UK PROS Complete your season with a late autumn charity ride in the beautiful northern dales in aid of Cancer Research. This new charity ride gives cyclists the chance to ride alongside some of the best young pros, such as Ben Swift, Alex Dowsett, Ian Stannard, Adam Blythe and hopefully Geraint Thomas will be joining us again this year. BORN OF HOPE AND DETERMINATION The ride is the brainchild of nineteen-year-old Robert Knibbs who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a form of cancer affecting the Lymph system, on the 15 October 2008. Now in remission Rob wanted to organise a fundraiser to try and help others who may be fighting similar illnesses and this is it! Enlisting the support of some of Great Britain's top young professionals, Ben Swift, Geraint Thomas and Alex Dowsett, he has selected a route that is demanding but not too ridiculous for the time of year, through some of his favourite cycling scenery. END OF SEASON HIGH The event will be taking place on Saturday, 13 November 2010 in the beautiful setting of the Yorkshire Dales and will be held over a challenging route of about 65 miles taking in a variety of rolling and hilly terrain, including the formidable Park Rash (but thankfully downhill) The ride HQ is the delightful Georgian town of Richmond, a perfect location to make a weekend of it. |
